Our Store

General Army Navy Outdoor began as an army navy surplus store in 1981. Over the last 40 years, it has expanded from a small surplus store to a 28,000 square foot light bright camping, outdoor clothing, survival, and military surplus retail store. The store has a wide selection of goods ranging from outdoor gear such as Coleman, ALPS, and MSR, just to name a few. They carry one of the largest selections of cast iron cookware in the state, ranging from skillets, dutch ovens, and griddles to cookbooks, lid lifters, and more, from top name brands like Lodge, Camp Chef, Texsport, and others. General Army Navy offers Dutch oven cooking classes and occasional cooking demonstrations right in the store, please call for details.

The outdoor department of the store contains gear for camping, hiking, backpacking, hunting and fishing. There is fifty five feet of wall space dedicated to a huge selection of sleeping bags, from youth to adult, with temperatures ranging from 50° to -30°. In addition to the sleeping bags, for sleeping comfort there are numerous cots and sleeping pads from ALPS, Stansport, Texsport, and others. Foam pads are available in a wide variety of sizes for all of your camping and craft needs. Large section of floor space displays a variety of tents for the individual backpacker to family tents that sleep up to nine people. There is a large selection of camping and backpacking stoves along with cook sets, mess kits and utensils. Many various water containers, from one quart GI canteens to fifty five gallon drums, are available.

A large selection of tactical gear as well as a large inventory of Carhartt and Dickies work clothing and a wide variety of boots from Tactical Research, Wolverine, Work Zone, Hi-Tec, Propper, and Sorel is always available. As for military clothing, new products from Propper and Alpha can be found along with many surplus items ranging from uniforms and boots to packs and duffle bags. Various military surplus stoves, from alcohol burning stoves to small folding pack stoves are great for packing or emergencies. There is a huge selection of military pins, patches, and medals for most military units and commendations.


Our Mission

Emergency preparedness is one of the most important departments in the store; it includes all the necessary items for a complete 72-hour kit. Survival tools such as signal mirrors, whistles, emergency blankets, waterproof matches, compasses and water purification tablets and water purification systems from MSR are necessary additions to any kit. Mountain House freeze-dried food and M.R.E.’s (Meals Ready to Eat) are both tasty and great for food storage as well as 72-hour kits. Special orders, to accommodate large church groups or organizations can also be placed. General Army Navy’s inventory is so extensive that it is difficult to list everything.
